I avoid Bible prophecy like the plague. Pun intended. It is just so confusing, and quite frankly, not that interesting. Todd Hampson has written and illustrated this simplified guide for all of us who dislike the subject. Unlike a previous reviewer, I don't think that this is necessarily for new Christians. As broken-downward equally the field of study is in this book, it is yet overwhelming.

This is not the type of book y'all read straight through. I recommend reading a couple of pages and letting information technology assimilate. I

If y'all accept ever wondered nigh biblical prophecy, even if it was just a passing question that stirred your interest, I highly recommend reading a new release from Harvest Firm Publishers. Todd Hampson If you have ever wondered about biblical prophecy, even if it was just a passing question that stirred your interest, I highly recommend reading a new release from Harvest Firm Publishers. Written and illustrated by Todd Hampson, "The Not- Prophet's Guide to the End Times: Biblical Prophecy for Everyone" is an engaging and understandable book that is flood with down-to-earth information, helping us sympathize the ins and outs of the important chemical element of prophecy in the Bible. Todd Hampson promises this book will cut through the complexity and confusion of his topic, be entertaining and user-friendly, and be full of fascinating visuals, timelines, and charts - and this book more than than delivers on every hope.

Although I have done a bit of studying on biblical prophesy in the past, I never really found a resource that tied it all together or described it in a way that was meaningful to me. This book, notwithstanding, was different. Filled with diagrams, charts, drawings, timelines, (and even humorous cartoons!) this book brings a weighty topic to life and makes information technology fun to larn virtually. This is definitely not to say that the subject of the end times is treated with irreverence or glossed over as something to joke about - on the contrary, I gained more than agreement and grasped the meanings of so many prophesies that had never fabricated sense to me before. In improver, I found the volume instilled a sense of hope, equally God's plans for the future became a beautiful issue to look forward to with anticipation rather than disinterest or dread.

There is SO much information packed into the 224 pages of "The Non-Prophet's Guide to the End Times", only I will share with you simply a few of my favorite (and what I considered virtually eye-opening) discussions: Specific Examples of Fulfilled Prophecies; Definitions of Key Terms; The Keys to Watching God'south Plan Unfold; A More Detailed Outline of Revelation; The Signs of Nature; so much more. Throughout the book I was also encouraged to further inquiry central topics for myself, as the author continually urges readers to form their own opinions through deeper study.

If you have ever thought there was no way you could understand the puzzle of biblical prophecy for yourself, I strongly encourage y'all to detect a copy of "The Non-Prophet'due south Guide to the Finish Times" and begin a study of this perspective-altering topic. You volition never look at words like "apocalypse" or "tribulation" again! Or, if you accept studied this topic for yourself already, this book is still a wonderful tool that is filled with visual aids and well-researched explanations to assist it come to life even more than.

In the end, I excitedly recommend Todd Hampson's remarkable new book to everyone who has ever idea that biblical prophecy was a complicated topic that should only be studied by "experts" - indeed, you will be well on your way to biblical prophesy proficiency after reading "The Non-Prophet's Guide to the Terminate Times"!!

Interesting material for anyone interested in the end of days

This certainly was an interesting take for me as I've not read much regarding stop times or prophecy. My married woman asked me to read this with her and I was pleasantly surprised. Nosotros are already interested in the book he wrote regarding Revelation, then that is next on our listing together. Definitely recommended if stop times and prophecy interests you.

Although I knew this would reverberate the author's ain position, I had the impression going in that information technology would also be a practiced introduction to the overall "options" when it comes to eschatological estimation. Unfortunately, the bias was far more than pervasive than expected.

Although I knew this would reverberate the writer's own position, I had the impression going in that it would likewise exist a good introduction to the overall "options" when it comes to eschatological interpretation. Unfortunately, the bias was far more pervasive than expected.

There are sections that address the various approaches to Revelation, the 3 major millennial views, and the iii master views of the rapture. However, the bias toward pre-trib premillennialism and a futurist view of Revelation is so overwhelming that these sections are not helpful. Culling views are not all represented adequately and accurately, which might lead someone to prematurely discard a given position.

In the application sections of the book, this bias likewise comes through, with the author indicating that a item passage teaches something -- where the "something" is actually his interpretation, and that isn't made clear to the reader. For instance, we're told that Ezekiel 38-39 promises an assault on Israel by a Russian-Arab alliance. One might remember the passage spells that out explicitly; withal, the term interpreted as "Russia" may or may non even exist a proper name.

The audience is slightly unclear, with the text seeming, in some places, to exist targeted at non-Christians but, in other places, to assume a level of Scriptural familiarity the average churchgoer lacks. It is definitely from a mainstream evangelical perspective, with an explicit entreatment to (and description of) dispensationalism and heavy use of Christian clichés (such as "God is a gentleman").

With that said, the author displays an obvious faithfulness to the gospel, and to edifice a faithful Church that trusts God's Give-and-take rather than the world's philosophies. His treatment of eschatology is clearly aimed toward producing true evangelism and discipleship. Information technology avoids sensationalism and wild predictions. I would have liked it better had it been more conspicuously presented and marketed as an argument for dispensational, pre-trib, premillennialism, rather than coming across equally a semi-objective approach to cease times prophecy in general.

I'm adequately knowledgeable on Bible prophecy, but I learned a lot from the Non-Prophet! I never compared the rapture to Noah's ark before. Practiced but not and so much.

I used this ebook in conjunction with the video. The video sessions did not sequence well with the volume. The last session was a bit of a bust. Some of the predictions were a scrap iffy. I used this for a study and the topic was great, the overall concept was easy to grasp and our group enjoyed the report, only it was a lot of work making this successful.
